The legendary watch designer Gerald Genta did the original sketch for the Nautilus in five minutes, sitting in a restaurant during the Basel World fair in Geneva in the early 1970s. When Patek Philippe later started to produce the watch, no one knew that the steel sports watch would be one of the most popular and recognizable models from Patek Philippe.
Nautilus was released in 1976 as the reference 3700. Since then, the model have been produced in all sorts of variations with added complications and in precious metals. The backbone of the Nautilus family is the steel watch that only shows time and the date. The contemporary reference is the famously blue dialed 5711 which we dare to say is “the watch that everybody wants”. With more than 30 years of improvements and development, the Nautilus 5711 is the everyday luxury steel watch that you rarely have to take off your wrist when going on with your day.
The Nautilus is a favorite here at Stories of Time, and we are proud to present our latest piece. A single owner 5711 in pristine condition, dated 2018 complete with the full set, as originally delivered, ready to be worn and appreciated.
